Here I am, ready to conquer another section of England! On this weekend's agenda: Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick Castle, and Oxford. Should be interesting!

Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-on-Avon

The Harvard House, childhood home of the founder of Harvard University (this one's for you, Dad)

The Avon River (hence Stratford-on-Avon) complete with swans

The Swan Theatre, home of the Royal Shakespeare Company, where we saw an excellent production of Julius Caesar

The Dirty Duck--the pub where all the RSC actors go after the shows--we went before the show for a quick dinner and a few card games

Savannah and I (roommates again!) in our fantastic youth hostel.

Warwick Castle! Jared, Savannah, and I pose in front of the Mound (just a tiny corner of the whole castle)

Uh-oh! I pose with anxiety beneath the hanging stocks in the castle dungeon

Savannah and I befriend a waxen soldier a la Madame Tussaud--lifelike, no?

Cool armor in the Great Hall

Liz beside the mill with river and water wheel

Me in front of the Peacock Gardens and Conservatory

Me in the Conservatory with String of Hearts (gorgeous hanging plant!)

Savannah and I pay for our life of crime with some time in the stocks

Me from the Mound (oldest part of the castle) overlooking the river and countryside

Overlooking the nearby town

Liz goes to Oxford!

Radcliffe Camera

Even the grafitti here is intellectual! (Also chalk--good thinking! You can topically express your opinions, without permanently defacing the lovely town. I think this is a very cool idea!)

Artistic view of the Bodleian Library (closed on Sundays, alas!)

Savannah in front of Blackwell's--the biggest bookstore in England, or the world, or something. Yay books!

Me in front of Christ Church College--the one I actually paid admission (three pounds) to go inside of. Why? You'll see!

The Great Hall of Christ Church College--look familiar? It should! The Great Hall of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies is a recreation of this room!

Look, I'm in Hogwarts!

Alice's Window in the Great Hall--note Alice (of Wonderland) and friends--Lewis Carrol went to and taught at Christ Church college, and Alice was based on the Dean's daughter!

Savannah and I in Tom Quad (the big bell tower in the background's named after you, Dad!) And that's all for now...
